Instagram Stories allows longer videos by cutting them up

Instagram seems to have made it possible to add videos that are longer than fifteen seconds via Stories. Where previously the limit was set to fifteen seconds, longer videos can now be added by cutting them into different parts.

The possibility to add longer videos was not announced by Instagram, but a user on Reddit, among other things, revealed his findings. He noted that videos for Instagram Stories that are longer than fifteen seconds are split up, whereby the images that pass after the first fifteen seconds no longer contain the original text of the Story.

AndroidPolice showed a video of the new functionality, showing how the video is split into multiple parts when recording for more than fifteen seconds. The new feature may be made available for Instagram users in phases
