Intel announces NUCs with Coffee Lake U processors




Intel has officially announced the NUC PCs and barebones with Coffee Lake U processors. These are five models that users can provide themselves with ram and storage and the two PCs with AMD Radeon GPUs whose details appeared earlier.

The five NUC kits codenamed Bean Canyon are the NUC8i7BEH, NUC8i5BEH, NUC8i5BEK, NUC8i3BEH, NUC8i3BEK. The models with H-suffix are 51mm high, those with K-suffix 36mm. The high models can contain 2.5 “HDDs and support Intel’s Optane memory, the other dimensions are equal: 117 mm x 112 mm Intel uses the Core i7- 8559U, Core i5-8259U and Core i3- 8109U for the barebones The gpu is the Plus Graphics 655.

The barebones can be equipped with 32GB ddr4 and there is a m2 slot for SSDs. At the front there are two usb 3 ports from which you can use for charging. At the back there are two more USB 3 ports and a USB port with ThunderBolt 3 support. HDMI 2a is also present and the SD card reader is on the side. The NUC kit with Core i7 has a suggested retail price of 499 dollars, Core i5 399 dollars and Core i3 299 dollars.

Intel has also announced the NUC PCs codenamed Crimson Canyon. These are the two systems with a Core i3-8121U and an AMD Radeon 540-gpu and type numbers NUC8i3CYSM and NUC8i3CYSN. The NUC8i3CYSM has 8GB integrated ddr4 and the NUC8i3CYSN 4GB. These systems do have standard storage and an OS: a hard disk of 1TB with Windows 10. There are two hdmi 2.0a ports, four USB 3.0 interfaces, support for gigabit ethernet and wifi-ac, infrared and an SD card reader.
