Intel launches high-end SSD 530 Series
Intel has its 530 series solid state drives launched. The SSDs come in capacities from 80GB to 480GB available and get mSATA, M.2 and 2.5 “SATA connections with it. Intel has the energy consumption compared to the previous generation SSDs quite know emissions.
The SSDs are available with four different capacities, 80, 120, 180 and 360 gigabytes. Intel delivers them in a form factor with mSATA connector, but also appear ngff – or M.2 models for example, ultrabooks, which have different sizes and SATA, 2x PCI-E and PCI-E 4x interfaces can have . The 2.5 “version is also available in the capacities mentioned, but also adds a 240GB and a 480GB model to that list to.
The maximum sequential read speed of SSDs is 540MB / s and sequential write is up to 490MB / s. The 4kB-random read and write speeds are up to 41000 and 80000 IOPS. Intel uses a Sand Force SF-2281 controller in combination with 20nm MLC memory.
Compared to the 2.5 “520-series and 525-series mSATA Intel has the power to limit quite know. Include The company made the move from 25nm to 20nm-memory. The idle power consumption of the mSATA SSD has decreased from 55mW to 275mW, compared to the Intel 525. In active state consumption according to Intel dropped from 350mW to 140mW, while consumption in DevSleep mode even drops to 200μW.
