Intel launches new stepping of Braswell Celeron and Pentium-socs

Intel announces a new stepping of three Braswell-socs to. Intel gives the new models are not only slightly higher turbo speeds, but also replaces a letter in the name. The J-chips can be used by manufacturers as of January 2016.

Intel presented the Braswell-socs in March. The manufactured on 14nm socs be found in mini PCs, laptops, tablets and small motherboards with onboard processors from various manufacturers. Improvements in the production process have now step into the new D-stepping enabled. The changes it brings compared to the C-stepping Announces Intel in a pdf.

These initiatives include three socs, which will each receive a slightly higher turbo speed. A reader of AnandTech discovered the precise speed increases. The Celeron J3060, a dual-core, getting the biggest increase, from 2.16 to 2,48GHz. Intel increases at the new SOCS not only with the type number 10, but also a paste J, instead of a N for the number. The Pentium J3710 gets a slightly higher TDP of 6.5 watts. When Celeron SOCs the TDP remains 6 watts. Intel fits beyond naming the graphics in the socs to. The GPU with 12 execution units in the Celerons goes like HD 400 through life, while the Pentium with 16 eu’s gets a 405-HD display.

Intel currently controls all samples of the new socs to manufacturers. In January 2016 Braswell D-stepping of must be available for production on a large scale.
