iOS 12.2 unveiled Apple’s plans for iPad and iPod Touch

Yesterday, Apple registered updated iPad models in the Eurasian Economic Commission’s database. Today, another confirmation was found that the company is actually preparing devices for release. In the program code of the iOS 12.2 beta build, the identifiers of the models of the new iPad, and even the iPod Touch, were found. It seems, Apple does not intend to abandon the famous line of players.

In total, four tablet models were found in the depths of iOS 12.2. Note that we are talking about new models of devices, since previously such identifiers were not involved. The list includes two versions with a cellular module on board, and two without.

These models point to a “budget” iPad with a 10-inch display, as well as an iPad mini 5. Experts suggest that the new tablets will not receive Face ID. Thus, the biometric identification method will remain the same – the devices will be equipped with only a Touch ID sensor.

The developers also managed to find a reference to the original iPod Touch 7 player. It seems incredible, but it looks like this product will really see the light.

There is no longer any reliable information, and we can only guess what improvements the new version of the Apple multimedia player will receive.

According to insiders, the successor to the iPad will be able to boast an updated design with reduced frames around the display. Apple is expected to completely upgrade its internal components – the device will receive a current Apple A11 processor, a second-generation Touch ID and an improved screen. The same fate befalls the iPad Mini 5, which, in addition to all, will receive support from the Apple Pencil pen.

It is assumed that the updated iPad and iPod Touch, along with the AirPods 2 will be shown to the public at the spring presentation of Apple. We wait?
