iOS 8.2 beta 5 vs. iOS 8.1.3: comparison of performance on iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 [Video]

On Monday, Apple released the fifth beta version of iOS 8.2 with built-in companion app for Apple Watch. User YouTube-channel Kabriolett decided to compare the performance of this release with iOS 8.1.3. Just say that the experiment did not reveal a clear leader – on the iPhone 4s was faster fresh update iOS 8.1.3, while both the iPhone 5 the opposite has happened.

Release iOS 8.2 beta 5 was held three weeks after the debut of iOS 8.2 beta 4 and two weeks after the iOS 8.1.3 . This release supports application development tools for Apple Watch and is designed to prepare the software updates for compatibility with smart watches.

The experiment was set twice: at the minimum supported models of iPhone 4s and iPhone 5. By placing a number of smart phones with iOS 8.2 beta 4 and iOS 8.1.3, Kabriolett turn the pre-installed, and third-party applications and compared the speed. During testing, open the chamber, Settings, Stocks, App Store, Weather, Maps, YouTube, Music and more.

The results have been mixed. In the first test on the iPhone 4s latest test build rehearsed noticeably faster. Most application tasks to run with less delay. However, when it came to the iPhone 5, there are reversed (blogger mixed model places, as warned in comments). Kabriolett suggests that Apple’s iOS 8.2 beta 5 had optimizations for older devices, but new models have not had time. It is possible that the situation will change with the next release.
