iPhone 6: display production to start in May, problems with 5.5 inches?

As yesterday the alleged housing leak of the iPhone 6 , I would also like to here again to point out that it will still take quite a while until a new iPhone hits the market. Reuters now reports that the display production for the New iPhone to be launched in May. So far, it is assumed that Apple will offer two different display sizes. 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches in conversation. The production of the displays should start with the 4.7 inch models, the 5.5 inch version to follow months later. The manufacturers are the usual suspects: Japan Display Inc., Sharp Corp. and LG Display Co Ltd..

Apple seems to want to fall back on the 4.7 inch display on the so-called In-Cell technology. This technology requires no further layer as a touch panel but is mounted directly on the display. As thinner construction can be achieved. Since you still have problems with 5.5 inch display with this technology, the production of which will start later, also is possible that we will refrain from In-Cell.

Japan Display will start production in May, the other manufacturers will then deliver in June also. If then that should start 5.5 inches display is still months later, it may be delivered poorly in the fall in an Apple phablet. Or there are again only very limited quantities available. But until the release of new iPhone models still enough time goes by, so that also can change everything.
