Official sales of the iPhone XR started only yesterday, but the novelty has already managed to fall into the hands of specialists from iFixit. As one would expect, the experts completely disassembled the smart phone that went on sale, and studied in detail all the internal components, as well as the maintainability of the device. According to the service center, the iPhone XR in its design is not much different from its older counterparts.

The most noticeable difference between the iPhone XR and the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max is the design of the battery. If in the case of Apple’s flagship smartphones, an L-shaped battery is used, then the more affordable iPhone uses the classic version of the battery structure – rectangular. As for the capacity, it was 2942 mAh. This is slightly more than the iPhone XS (2658 mAh), but still less than the iPhone XS Max (3174 mAh). Despite this, the iPhone XR shows the highest battery life under various usage scenarios.

Specialists of the service center also noted another important innovation – the smartphone has received a modular tray for SIM-cards. This means that it will be much easier to repair it than before, since it is no longer part of the motherboard.

As you know, the iPhone XR screen did not receive support for 3D Touch Touch recognition technology. However, the branded vibration motor Taptic Engine is in its former place, where the tasks of Haptic Touch are now assigned.

In general, the organization of the internal space resembles those in the iPhone 8 and iPhone XR. The maintainability of the “affordable” iPhone was rated at 6 points out of 10. The screen of the device, like the battery, can be replaced without any problems, but because of the new waterproofing elements, the smartphone turned out to be slightly more difficult to disassemble. In addition, great difficulties may also arise when replacing the rear broken glass.
