Jide Announces Remix Pro tablet with keyboard cover in China

Manufacturer Jide Technology announced new hardware running on his Remix OS. The Remix Pro is a 12 “tablet with keyboard cover. There will also be a new Remix Mini PC. The hardware runs on version 3.0 of the Android-based operating system.

The Remix new Remix Pro and Mini, where Android Police and Liliputing overwrite initially come only in China market and are not yet on the website of Jide. The tablet is the successor of the Remix Ultra. The new model has a 12 “screen with a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 652-soc sits with 3GB of RAM and 32GB EMMC storage memory in the 6,9mm thick device, which weighs 635 grams. The battery has a capacity of 9000mAh and two cameras present: an eight megapixel copy on the back and a five megapixel variant on the front.

Jide also working on a new version of the Remix Mini, a small box with USB, Ethernet and HDMI connections that can be used as a PC. The new version is equipped with a Rockchip RK3368-SOC, which has eight Cortex-A53 cores. There is up to 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB EMMC storage site, which can be expanded with a micro SD card. Jide will not sell themselves the new Remix Mini but provide OEMs which can then release the device under their own name.

The Remix Pro tablet is the first device that will run on Remix OS 3.0, which is based on Android 6.0. The current Remix OS 2.0 is based on Android 5. Jide already added the ability to work with separate windows in that version, a feature that Google itself is now on Android N has implemented.

Jide further announced that the founder of the Android-x86 project entered service with the company. Chih-Wei Huang gets Jide in charge of developing the x86 version of Remix OS for PCs. The developer previously worked at the Asus Eee PCs.
