Kaspersky freezes together No More Ransom and Europol

Kaspersky is working with the ransomware project No More Ransom and with Europol in the refrigerator by Wednesday’s resolution of the European Parliament, in which the security company is labeled as malicious.

According to the company’s founder and CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, public-private partnerships such as Kaspersky Labs had, until the European Parliament reverses the decision. He reports that he is forced to freeze cooperation with organizations such as No More Ransom and Europol. Which other organizations are involved is not clear.

According to Kaspersky, the European Parliament welcomes the cybercrime decision and claims that his company has protected the EU for 20 years by cooperating with agencies and has led to multiple arrests of cybercriminals.

Kaspersky is one of the driving forces of No More Ransom , together with Europol, the National Police and Intel Security, which has been on its own feet as McAfee since a year ago. On that site, victims of ransomware can find out which malware they are infected with and which tools they can use to undo the hostage software.

On Wednesday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for “to exclude potentially dangerous programs and equipment and forbid programs and equipment known to be malicious, such as Kaspersky Lab.” No evidence was provided for that claim.
