For Windows And Mac Computers

Kaspersky Lab has announced the introduction of a secure connection to serve as a solution to encrypt data traffic flowing on Windows or Mac computers.

The solution, based on VPN technology, allows for automatic encryption when data penetration threats are the most dangerous to the user, the leading Russian information security company said. For example, if you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, or use online banking or other sites that contain private information.

Kaspersky Lab pointed out that the transfer of unprotected data or that is surrounded by inadequate protection measures exposes a person’s privacy, data, and even money to risk. Using free tools on the Internet, attackers will be able to read and use information flowing through these communication channels, including messages, passwords, and files.

The company said that its Secure Connection network ensures a reliable encryption of data flowing, and if the user forgot to activate, the solution will present a reminder if necessary. For example, the solution will provide services if the Wi-Fi network is not secure or, if Windows is installed, when the user tries to access a site that contains vital information (eg e-mail, online banking, E-store, or social media channel) without encryption. It is also possible, as desired by the user, to set the secure network to manually control the encryption mode or the continuous encryption mode.

It is possible to control the Secure Connection network separately. It is easy to monitor the time, duration and volume of encrypted data traffic over each communication channel, using the My Kaspersky Personal Account. The same gateway can also be used to control the remaining megabytes in the free version.

“The security and safety of our users is a top priority for us, so we are aiming to provide multi-level protection and layers at every stage where the user is likely to lose anything,” said André Mocola, Kaspersky Lab’s consumer business leader.

“Data encryption is an essential component of digital security and today we are pleased to offer this solution to all Windows and Mac users, which will also be available to all mobile users by the end of the year,” said Mr Mochula.

Secure Connection is available almost free (an option that offers basic features for free, and additional services for a small fee). The free version provides 200MB of encrypted data traffic per device per day, with no limits for a number of devices. Users can take advantage of unlimited data streaming traffic available for five devices at an additional charge of AED 17.96 per month or AED 107.96 per year.
