Kepler discovered second Earth
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the space observatory Kepler has discovered two new solar system, which includes three planets the size of Earth. The latter are the so-called “habitable zone” where the surface temperature of the planets for the presence there of water in liquid form. According to currently available information, around Kepler-62 rotates five planets, two of which are located at a distance that allows for the presence of water on them in liquid form. The other three are so much closer to the star, which encircle her for 12 and 18 days. This makes them unsuitable for life.
By the planets in the habitable zone of Kepler-62 are Kepler-62e (60 percent larger than Earth) and Kepler-62f, which winds its way through the star orbit for 267 days. The small size of the latter (40 per cent more of the planet), making it the most accurate copy of the Earth today.
Kepler spacecraft has on board spectrographic equipment, he can only determine the size and orbit of the planet. However, based on previous studies NASA has suggested that Kepler-62f has a rather rocky rather than gaseous structure.
The system is a dwarf star with two open today planets, 69b and 69c. Given the category of the star (spectral class G – like the sun), it can be assumed that her planet has a more favorable environment for life than the planets of Kepler-62 system. The size of the dwarf star Kepler-69 is 90 percent of the size of the sun, and the brightness – 80 per cent of the brightness of our star.
