Kindle e-readers get updated with new homescreen

Amazon soon sends a big update to multiple Kindles. The main changes are a new homescreen and quick actions. Besides jumping recommended books clearly in the eye. The ota update will be available in the coming days.

Kindle homescreen update Previously showed the homescreen three books including recommendations such as “book of the month” or “new and worth reading. The new home screen is the last book read large visible and two other recently read books are somewhat smaller there next. On the right there is a new section ‘My reading list “where the books are listed in the personal wish list of Amazon and Goodreads members here are the books that are on the” Want to read’ bookshelf.

Underneath users see recommendations, as well as on the Amazon site. Also, read books displayed Goodreads contacts. The titles of the books change every time you re-enable the e-reader.

Several commonly used settings are made easily accessible, such as airplane mode. Also sharing quotes via Facebook, Twitter or Goodreads easier than before. Then others can, without Amazon account, read a preview of the book in a normal browser.

The update comes in the next days the Kindle in 2014, the Paperwhite models from 2013 and 2015 and the Kindle Voyage.
