Foundation (HDMI Forum) responsible for developing the standard high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), Wednesday announced the launch of the second version of the interface specification, so that brings (HDMI 2.0) can transfer more data and other enhancements.
The Foundation said in a statement from the German capital, Berlin, (HDMI 2.0) provides a significant increase in the bandwidth (up to 10 Gbps) to support the new features like HD video or call it as 4K, in addition to 32 channel audio.
The (HDMI Forum) that the second version is available for corporate plans to the IFA consumer electronics fair 2013 based on Berlin, holding a press conference to discuss recent new features brought by (HDMI 2.0) on Friday 6 September at 12 noon.
The Foundation said that the second version of the interface (HDMI) does not require cables or connectors, but the current cables that provide high speeds (category 2 cables) capable of carrying the increase in bandwidth.
Expected (HDMI Forum) to launch compliance test specification (CTS) version II (HDMI 2.0) before the end of the year 2013.
