Left 4 Dead-makers are working on a new game in ‘world-famous game franchise’

Turtle Rock, the game studio that created the two Left 4 Dead games and Evolve, is working on a new game in a ‘world-famous game franchise’. This appears from a vacancy that the company has put online.

Members of the gaming forum ResetEra came to the conclusion that the American games maker has these plans . In the vacancy the studio says to look for a level designer. In addition to being a large, well-known franchise, candidates are also asked to create levels in which collaboration between teammates is important. Furthermore, they are asked about experience in creating levels for ‘competitive first-person shooters’.

Turtle Rock was taken over by Valve shortly after the release of Left 4 Dead, after which the studio was called Valve South. In 2011, the gamemaker became independent again and took it back to its old name. Aside from a mobile game, Evolve is the only game that the studio has released so far, although it has also contributed to several Counter-Strike titles and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. Turtle Rock has in the past ten years therefore mainly focused on multiplayer games where cooperation is particularly important. Evolve was not successful despite a long-term commitment from the developer and a switch to free-to-play.
