Leica presents SL Type 601 system camera with full frame sensor

Leica introduces the SL Type 601 the first model in a new camera system. It is a full frame camera with no mirror and an electronic viewfinder. Along with the camera manufacturer presents the three lenses.

In contrast to the Leica M cameras, there is no optical rangefinder, the Leica SL. The new model is similar to the Sony A7 sets, which also have a full frame sensor and an electronic viewfinder. Weighing 847 grams, the SL quite heavy for a camera in this class. Leica, the device includes a metal housing that provides sealing against dust and moisture. The chassis is milled from a solid block of aluminum.

Leica provides SL of an electronic viewfinder which includes 4.4 million pixels. With 0.8x magnification the EVF is also one of the largest on the market. The resolution is higher than that of the searchers with 2.36 million pixels, which apply to most other manufacturers in their high-end cameras.
