Lens liquid crystal comes to smartphones

Photography Start-Up Lens Vector has an autofocus lens, based on liquid crystals. The lens does not use moving parts in order to focus, but changes the state of the liquid crystals.

According to the developers used the lens to eighty percent less energy than “traditional” mechanical lenses that are currently standard in many smartphones and other mobile devices. The device has no moving parts, so production costs are also low because there is no autofocus motors need to be built.
