Let’s Encrypt available in open beta
Beta Let’s Encrypt since Thursday to everyone. It is now possible during the public beta period to use Let’s Encrypt without a previous invitation.
Let’s Encrypt has recently 26.000 certificates distributed during the limited beta period. The organization says it has obtained during that period many important insights into how the systems work. Also, the process for the end user now sufficiently refined.
Before Encrypt Let’s drop the beta label, more needs to be done, especially to the end user. In addition, automation is a key cornerstone of the strategy, which means that the client on as many platforms as possible to function properly. As the organization enters the public beta period, the number of users and thus the feedback if the property increases rapidly.
Let’s Encrypt was announced a year ago by EFF with the aim that website administrators within a minute should be able to install a certificate for a Web site. Among the sponsors are Mozilla, Akamai, Cisco, Eff, IdenTrust, Internet Society and Facebook. The latter has reported itself only on 3 December.Viewing:-131
