LG announced today the launch of a new version of its LG G6, the LG G6 +, which is not unlike the basic version, except storage capacity, colors and audio features.

The South Korean consumer electronics giant also announced today the launch of the first major software update for the LG G6, offering users a number of new features.

LG said in a statement that the G6 Plus has the advantage of the G6 that offers twice the internal storage space, providing 128 GB of space compared to 64 GB, but RAM remains the same: 4 GB. The new phone also supports Qi wireless charging.

The company added that the G6 Plus is available in new colors, namely blue, gold and black. LG has applied a different excitation method on the phone that makes the blue shine by light reflection. In addition, it comes with a luxury B & O headset. There is currently no information on the price and timing of the IPO.

With regard to the software update of the G6 basic phone, it brings face recognition feature that works even when the phone is switched off, allowing the user to open the phone just by looking at it.

The update comes with another feature called “low power consumption” that utilizes Qualcomm’s chips to improve battery usage by pooling sensor data depending on the user’s location and movement.

The update also includes a new Hi-Fi Quad voice control feature that allows users to record incoming calls from previously specified numbers with high quality.
