LG has some of the people who work layoffs developing webOS. It would be about twenty developers, but the Korean manufacturer determines the operating system for televisions or to continue to develop.

Several employees of LG, which are housed in so-called Silicon Valley Lab, have indicated that they are fired. Across from The Verge says LG that there are about twenty employees were dismissed in an effort to increase its operating efficiency and thus reduce costs. It has done so by the groups to join the interface and product management together.

In the statement says that the layoff LG “in no way has a negative impact on the development of webOS ‘. Sources say, however, compared to The Verge that it is the slimmed team ‘challenging’ to continue the development. The future has to show to what extent the webOS platform is still being developed.

Although LG says it continues to develop the webOS, the operating system has been plagued several times by adversity. This enabled Palm creator not produce off the market for smartphones and mobile phones with the OS, and also after the acquisition by HP, was not a success. LG puts the operating system, after having bought from HP, for some time for its televisions.
