LG increases the resolution in smartphones
LG Display’s engineers have developed a 5.5-inch ultra-high-definition video, which will be equipped with next-generation smartphones. The new screen resolution is 2560 by 1440 pixels. According to the South Korean manufacturer, this is the highest resolution smartphone to date.
Larger screens and high resolution are key factors induce buyers to purchase new mobile devices, according to many technology companies. LG Display, one of the largest displays in the world, has no right to miss this opportunity.
The combination of a 5.5-inch screen with so many pixels provides the density of 538 ppi. In comparison, the 4.7-inch HTC One has 468 ppi, and Samsung Galaxy S4 of the 441 pixel per inch.
Higher resolution, for example, allows users to view on-screen smartphone PC-version of the web pages without any distortion, assure the company. LG calls its new display panel of the world’s first Quad HD AH-IPS LCD. Prefix Quad means four times the number of pixels when compared with a resolution of 1280 x 720.
But it is not only in the permit. LG developed technology will help manufacturers to produce thinner smartphones. The thickness of the new panel is only 1.21 mm, which is 12 percent thinner than the 5.2-inch Full HD-panel, introduced last month. Release dates of the first smartphones with the new ultra-high-resolution screen is not yet defined.
It is expected that LG Display will provide a display of the second generation iPad mini .
