LG presents G7 ThinQ smartphone on 2 May

LG has announced that it will present the G7 ThinQ smart phone on May 2nd in New York and on May 3rd in Seoul. Based on what is probably official renders, it appears that the new flagship of the South Korean manufacturer gets a notch on the screen.

LG has not yet published specifications, but reports that the addition of the name ‘ThinQ’ stands for the addition of various ai functionalities. The phone will have a camera function that recognizes what the camera is aiming at and thereby selects the most optimal camera mode.

The LG G7 ThinQ seems to be compatible with the LG V30S ThinQ, LG’s recently released 2018 version of the V30, which does not appear in the Benelux , as far as the support for the various AI functionalities is concerned. The V30S ThinQ includes separate commands for Google Assistant to operate the camera with voice. Via the voice assistant, for example, users can instruct the phone to take a picture with the wide-angle lens.

The website Androidheadlines has published a version of the different color variants of the G7 ThinQ; according to the site, it is an official render that has provided a reliable source. The image shows that the smartphone has a notch in the screen. On the back there are two cameras, with a fingerprint scanner underneath. The V30 has the cameras side by side.

On previously leaked renders , the G7 could probably be seen with a notch at the top of the screen. According to telecom insider Evan Blass, the device gets a 6 “screen with a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. There are variants with 4GB ram and 64GB storage and with 6GB ram and 128GB storage. The primary camera would have sixteen megapixels, with a f / 1.6 lens.
