LG shows 4K OLED TVs with support for HDR

LG will next week at IFA electronics fair in Berlin for the first 4K OLED TVs tones with support for high dynamic range. The manufacturer also come for the first time with a flat 4K OLED TV.

Users can watch both HDR-content streaming services from external sources to TVs, says LG. It involves a total of three models with HDR support, the 65EF9500, 55EF9500 and 55EG9200. The first two digits represent the diagonal and thus comes to 65 “- and 55” models.

The higher dynamic range is a feature that LG had not yet built into his EG960V, an OLED TV with 4K resolution which appeared already in the Netherlands. The South Korean manufacturer is currently the only one on a large scale in the use of OLED TVs, while rival Samsung OLED manufacturing for years focuses on the use of smartphones and some tablets.

The TVs LG shows run on webOS 2.0, the operating system for TVs that develops South Korean manufacturer. LG shows the models for the first time at IFA, but whether and when the televisions released in the Benelux and if so, at what price it will be is still unknown.
