Find a Question:
Line activates chat service end-to-end encryption for each user
The chat app Line, particularly in Asia is popular, gets native support for end-to-end encryption. The company behind Line calls the security functionality Letter Sealing. The option for Hidden Chats disappears.
The company behind Line activates the feature now for all users, after the letter Sealing in October made available to a limited number of users last year. Line stops support for secure Hidden chats. “Who Hidden Chat used, can now enjoy the same level of security with one-on-eenchats” Line cites as the reason for the disappearance. Users should use the latest version of Line on iOS and Android for secure communications.
Details on the encryption Line does not mention. If properly implemented enables end-to-end encryption decrypting instant communication impossible or at least difficult. The encryption takes place at the transmitter of the telephone, and only this will be reversed at the receiver. The major competitor Line, WhatsApp, was early April, end-to-end encryption.
Line is just like WhatsApp at last count 215 million active users and is especially in countries such as South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand popular. The Japanese Line Corporation develops chat app, which is owned by the Korean Naver.Viewing:-91
