Local politician suspected of penetrating

‘iCloud storage known Dutch’
A VVD politician from Almere has been arrested by the police for computer trespassing. Among other things, he would be suspected of having penetrated iCloud accounts of well-known Dutch people and having captured and distributed nude photographs.

De Telegraaf writes that the man, who designates the newspaper as Mitchell van der K., has meanwhile been arrested and has been charged with computer trespassing. According to the newspaper, he ‘cracked passwords’ and in this way he gained access to accounts of Dutch celebrities, such as their iCloud account. For example, the man would have gained access to the account of vlogger Laura Ponticorvo. Last year, nude photos were published on the internet. Another goal was hockey player Fatima Moreira de Melo, claims the newspaper.

The suspect says that he acted on instructions. The NOS writes that he denies the images themselves and that he has admitted the penetration of iCloud accounts. Other victims would have heard from the police that there was access to their data. Van der K. was entitled to a seat in the city council after the local election, but he has since withdrawn from politics. He would have given “serious private circumstances” as a reason.
