Main developer Star Wars games Jade Raymond steps up at EA

Jade Raymond, founder of EA’s subsidiary Motive Studios, has resigned. This is due to a reorganization in which she is replaced as Motive’s head. Among other things, she led the development of the deleted Star Wars game from Visceral Games.

In a statement to Variety , EA shows that the Raymond appreciated work and efforts. “During the time that she was with us, Jade has put together good teams, so the projects that are still under development at Motive remain unchanged.” The senior vice president of Bioware, Maxis and EA Mobile, Samantha Ryan, will lead Motive Studio instead of Raymond. This was announced prior to Raymond’s departure. Ryan is involved in the development of Anthem, which will be released on February 22, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and Windows.

Raymond worked for her job at EA at Ubisoft Montreal, where she was the producer for Assassin’s Creed 1, 2 and Bloodlines. In July 2015 she started working for EA and founded Motive Studios. In addition, she worked with Visceral Games, the developer of the Dead Space series, on a Star Wars game. It was intended that it became a single-player game. Visceral Games was dissolved by EA in October 2017. Last June it appeared that the publisher had canceled the development of the game. Motive Studios, led by Raymond, helped further the development of Star Wars Battlefront 2.
