MakerBot has been charged with supplying dysfunctional 3d printers
The company behind MakerBot, one of the most famous brands in the field of 3D printers, was sued by a group of users. Who argue that the company knew that the 3D printers sold functioned poorly.
It is a class action lawsuit which affected users can join, according to the court documents online put . The lawsuit Stratasys, the parent company of MakerBot, accused of “fraudulent conduct”. The company would have delivered according to prosecutors knowingly 3D printers that do not function properly. Among others, the Replicator printers were shipped with defective parts.
Stratasys also would have tried to cover up the complaints from users. Thus ended the include of blogs where users complained about the quality of the printer. Stratasys reportedly opted for this business strategy because of the poor financial situation, which makes it tried to boost sales numbers and would have cut back on quality. Because of the financial situation were earlier this year workers fired. Stratasys has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
