Makers Popcorn Time announce legal alternative to Butter
The creators behind the popular and notorious streaming service Popcorn Time have developed an alternative version of their software, who says he is completely legal. It is Butter, a streaming framework in which no references to illegal content are given.
The developers have a new website opened for their project. According to the development team Butter is a version of Popcorn Time, “without all the parts that provide people with reservations”. It is an open source project, such as Popcorn Time, designed to stream video content to users. To remain unaffected by authorities and copyright holders will be offered material for which no licensing deals are necessary.
According to the authors, there is currently only present content of the website vodo.net, but the plan is to add also in term of content from other websites. Users can also choose to stream content yourself via the bittorrent protocol, but they are in this case must personally be responsible for; thus, it is thus possible to set up its own version of Popcorn with Time Butter, which is out of sight of the original makers to operate.
Butter with the developers seem to want to focus so explicitly on the underlying technology behind Popcorn Time. This is accomplished through a project on Github, where interested parties can contribute to. Due to copyright issues to the developers could stick Popcorn Time would no longer operate via Github and did many software engineers no longer contribute.
Meanwhile, the developers continue to work on Popcorn Time; that service just keeps available. However, they emphasize that the infrastructure remains separate from Butter. Who wants to use Butter can go on Github; later come the developers with turnkey installation files.Viewing:-190
