Maniac Mansion developers come up with new adventure game




Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick started a Kickstarter campaign to fund their new project named Thimbleweed Park. The point & click -Game from the creators of Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island must have eyes like a classic Lucasarts game.

Thimbleweed Park should be challenging and fun, but at the same time have a classic look. Gilbert and Winnick say miss such a point & click-adventure games. According to them it is a game in the spirit of Maniac Mansion. The developers keep instance of large pixels and are therefore clearly seen in the first images.

That there is still interest in such games, confirms the Kickstarter page of Thimbleweed Park. Is more than $ 125,000 after a day already collected. It is converted to a total of almost 100,000 euros. The ultimate goal is set at $ 375,000, or about 300,000 euros. As Gilbert and Winnick managed to get the funding and development of Thimbleweed Park around blows the game is expected in June 2016.

It’s about two detectives to investigate a dead body that was found in a river. In total, the player controls five characters, which the ‘dark and satirical’ world of Thimbleweed Park to be discovered.
