Master of Orion in ‘early access’ on Steam and GOG
Master of Orion has entered its “early access phase. This means that the game is still in development. The ‘early access’ version of the game will last at least three months and at least three phases exist.
In these three phases varieties and new features will be added. During this phase, there will in the first instance, six varieties are what will be later ten. Players can explore 75 technological improvements and there are large galaxies with up to a hundred solar systems per galaxy, though not all available. During the test phase, there are fewer opportunities to win and will certain features do not work yet.
The game has at this stage the use of two languages: English and Russian. The final version supports more languages, although it is not clear what that yet. This first stage of the early access presumably takes a month, writes the developer on its Steam-page. For feedback from the community has set up a forum.
The 4X game or explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate -game requires the player to explore everything, to expand the sphere of influence, exploit conquered territories and eventually eliminate competition. The new version is a remake of the strategic game Micro Pose in 1993. The Argentine NGD Studios is developing the game for Wargaming. The Collector’s Edition of Master of Orion will cost 45.99 euros, and that amount will not change according to the message. The Collector’s Edition also contains the three original Master of Orion games, a book, soundtrack and an additional race, Terran Khanate. What is the standard cost is not yet known. The test version will only run on Windows systems with 64-bit. The minimum system requirements are 15GB of free space on the hard drive, an Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2, 2GB RAM and an Nvidia 240, Intel HD 4000 or ATI 4650 GPU.
