Among other things bunq , Starling , Tesco and Monzo point the finger at MasterCard in response to complaints from users that payments are not made. It would be a global incident, where major international banks are experiencing problems.

Users complain that pins do not work and cards are refused. It is not known what causes the problems and when they are solved. Mastercard has not yet responded to complaints from users.

The problems concern the Mastercard credit cards and the Maestro debit cards. The Visa cards, the competitor of Mastercard, do not seem to be affected by the problems.

Update, 21.10 : Mastercard claims that it was a limited number of transactions and that the problems should be solved.
