Find a Question:
MediaTek has introduced the first eight-core processor in the world
Earlier this month, a network has the first mention of the world’s first eight-core processor production MediaTek, but now the Chinese company has decided to officially introduce novelty.
As expected, SoC, codenamed MT6592 offers eight cores Cortex-A7, performed at rates 28-nanometer manufacturing process, the computational power that can be used simultaneously. The operating frequency of processor cores varies between 1.7-2.0 GHz.
According to the manufacturer, the new product will provide a completely different gaming experience smoother and faster work graphical interface as well as a large enough battery life of the battery.
Earlier it was reported that in the popular benchmark suite AnTuTu, the first samples of chips MediaTek MT6592 able to score more than 30,000 points.
Lower cost MediaTek chips makes them competitive enough compared to the SoC Qualcomm and Samsung . MediaTek company already owns more than 50 percent of the processor market for smartphones low and middle price segments. The new SoC can provide leadership and MediaTek in the upper segment, pushing Qualcomm and Samsung.
It is reported that the video decoding Full HD MediaTek MT6592 single-chip system consumes 18 percent less energy than a quad counterparts, which use processor core Cortex-A15.
Mass production of MediaTek MT6592 will begin in November of this year.
