MediaTek unveiled a 4-core chip for tablets budget

MediaTek MT8125

MediaTek, supplier of components for low-cost smartphones, tablets and set-top boxes, introduced a new chip for tablet computers. The new solution will enable manufacturers to produce tablets with Full HD-screen TVs priced below $ 250 .

MediaTek MT8125 combines a 4-core Cortex-A7 CPU with clock speeds up to 1.50 GHz, graphics unit and PowerVR Series5X modem 3G HSPA +. The graphics core supports displays whose resolution reaches 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 13 megapixel camera and 1080p-video playback.

In addition to the built-in HSPA + modem supports communication standards 2G/EDGE, 802.11 b / g / n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM-radio. Wi-Fi module certified to Miracast.

Currently, Lenovo and MediaTek are in talks to integrate the new chipset in the tablet.
