Medion introduces aluminum ultrabook with 3200×1800-pixel resolution




Medion will in the fourth quarter launch an ultrabook which features high-end specifications. The manufacturer supplies the Akoya S3401 with a 13.3 “screen with qHD + resolution of 3200×1800 pixels. The casing is made entirely of aluminum.

Medion wants with the Akoya S3401 itself as a brand that will control not only the budget segment, but also can make high-end laptops. The ultrabook therefore gets a Skylake Core i7, up to 8GB RAM and an SSD of up to 512GB, although the manufacturer is also talking about a hard drive of 1TB. The thickness of the device with aluminum body is 18mm and the weight amounted to 1.46 kilogram.

The battery contains four cells and the li-polymer type. The capacity enables Medion not known, but which should be enough for up to 7 hours of working time, although the actual time depends on the type of use. Regarding connectivity, there is support for Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi ac. The specification list mentions usb type c, but the speed at which the reversible connection handle is not known. However, there are also a regular USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports present and HDMI is present.

Medion brings the laptop into the fourth quarter, in shades of gold, gray and silver out. The starting price is 899 euros, but it will be for a simple configuration. So Medion also mentions the optional presence of a screen with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Medion is the preferred supplier of supermarket chain Aldi, but whether the Akoya here comes the shelves is not known.
