Meizu hint to notice new Ubuntu smartphone on February 22

Chinese Meizu probably announced on February 22 a new Ubuntu smartphone. Possibly it is an Ubuntu edition of the Meizu Pro 5, an Android smartphone that appeared in September 2015.

Love Ubuntu Meizu has on the Chinese social network Weibo on Valentine’s Day a teaser posted with the words’ Love Ubuntu. The picture is accompanied by the date of February 22 and the text MWC2016. The clues seem to point to an introduction of a new Ubuntu smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, which takes place from 22 to Barcelona on February 25th.

According to rumors, it is a Ubuntu version of the Meizu Pro 5. This smartphone came in 2015 on the market with Android. The device has the same Exynos 7420-SOC as the Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.7 “-oledscherm with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Previously leaked all photos from a Meizu Pro 5 which runs on Ubuntu.
