Microsoft and Yahoo began removing search results
Microsoft and Yahoo have started removing unwelcome results. This means that include both Dutch companies can ask to delete results. Earlier competitor Google offered such an option though.
The tech giants get results away after a ruling by the European Court. That ruled in May that search engines should allow the removal of search results. This involves the results that violate the right to privacy and Europeans in the Court therefore entitled ‘to be forgotten. ”
Microsoft and Yahoo have now started removing the results, say spokespersons Friday at The Wall Street Journal. The companies have little further apart on how to deal with the request, except that they scrutinize them and if necessary act on them.
Earlier, Google began removing search results. Before put the search giant a form online. According to The Wall Street Journal, Google has since the ruling of the European Court removed more than 208,000 left, and came within about 602,000 requests.
