Microsoft deletes option to control xbox one menu with gestures
Microsoft has decided to remove support for Kinect dashboard navigation with gestures. Since the release of the new Xbox Experience One option disappears from the software. The decision was made because the function is rarely used according to Microsoft.
This tells Mike Ybarra, responsible for Xbox at Microsoft, in an interview with Windows Central. He suggests that Microsoft wants to focus on features that users demand. “The use was very low,” said Ybarra “we had to ask ourselves whether it is worth the investment yet.”
Originally, the Kinect bundled with every Xbox One and Microsoft advertised with the dashboard navigation through gestures. Soon gave Microsoft the opportunity to purchase the console with Kinect at a discounted price.
Microsoft indicates that only the dashboard navigation disappears and other software continue to work with the Kinect, including Skype, biometric login and Kinect games. One of the new Xbox Experience is available from November 12, and offering faster interface and backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games.
