Microsoft DirectX 12 will present at the upcoming conference GDC-2014

DirectX 12

Corporation Microsoft in its official blog published a little teaser of what awaits us during the conference GDC-2014, entirely dedicated to video game development. It seems, Microsoft is ready to show the world a new generation of graphics technology in the face of DirectX 12.

The next version of the popular graphics API Redmond corporation is presented to the world very soon – March 20. We remind you that the previous version of the API number 11 came out four and a half years ago, in July 2009. DirectX 11, among other things, gave the video game developers the opportunity to use Shader Model 5.0, which opened up new possibilities for the realization of many graphic effects.

What will please developers DirectX 12 games – we know very soon. But now we can assume that all the forces Microsoft will promote its cloud services. Even during the marketing promotion of its game console Xbox One , which is also based on the API DirectX (Xbox name originally came from the name of DirectX), redmondtsy boasted that 300,000 dedicated servers can easily cheat the complex model of ray-tracing lighting remotely, making the graphics in the game incredibly realistic. Many skeptics then just smiled. Let’s see what Microsoft will be able to surprise us with real examples.

Alternatively, DirectX 12 will offer developers an alternative to the recently announced technology AMD Mantle, who works with graphics hardware at the low-level access, allowing you to achieve incredible graphics quality from fairly mediocre video processor.

GDC conference title stands for Game Developers Conference. This annual event, first opened its doors back in 1988, visited by thousands of video game developers from dozens of countries. This year’s conference will begin March 17 and will last for 4 days prior to March 21. Microsoft Speech at the conference, as I said above, is scheduled for March 20, so enter this date in your diaries – should be very interesting.
