Microsoft: forced update to Windows 10 was ‘a mistake’




Microsoft last few days, some users of Windows 7 and 8.1, forced to perform an update to Windows 10 was “a mistake”, says the company. Microsoft says to stop the forced installation of its new operating system.

The error was, according to Microsoft in a recent update for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, a check which was running Windows 10 as a voluntary update changed to a forced update, said the company in a statement to VentureBeat. The result was that Windows 10 is temporarily acting as updates users should install, including countdown to the start time of reinstalling Windows 10.
