Microsoft has Windows 10 IoT Core from the test phase
Microsoft has made the Windows 10 version for embedded systems in the testing phase. This version, called Windows 10 IoT Core is intended for small, inexpensive devices such as the Raspberry Pi. The operating system does not need to be paid extra.
The IoT version of the operating system is specifically designed for embedded systems such as the Raspberry Pi 2 and Minnowboard Max. To install the operating system on the hardware will need a regular PC running Windows 10, from the ‘IoT Core’ there can be installed on an SD card, which can then be inserted into the device.
The first test version of Windows 10 IoT Core was in April released. In the meantime, Microsoft has added support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also has expanded support for Python and Node.js and there are numerous problems solved. To celebrate the launch of Windows 10 IoT Core Microsoft jointly organizing Hackster.io a competition in home automation.
