Microsoft: HoloLens come “within a year” to developers




Microsoft has announced that it plans to release within a year’s time the first version of its augmented reality glasses HoloLens. This version will be mainly intended for developers and business environments.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella let it know in a video interview with the BBC. Nadella spoke among other things about the plans has in mind his business with the HoloLens, glasses for Virtual- and augmented reality that was already announced at an earlier stage. A first version to be released within the year, and as usual for developers. The device must, however, also be used by companies, though gave no further details about Nadella here.

Furthermore, the Microsoft CEO said that it has a five-year development plan envisioned by HoloLens. Also, there were no further details, but it does indicate that it may still take some time before consumers can buy a HoloLens. A release date is still unknown.

Previously, Microsoft had already released much information about his glasses that can project holograms. The device was early this year announced and is intended for use with Windows 10. At its Build conference in April showed Microsoft’s performance of the headset. There have already announced several partnerships; so will include NASA astronauts with HoloLens work .
