Microsoft: HoloLens has battery life of 5.5 hours with normal use
Microsoft has announced at an event given that its augmented reality headset HoloLens a battery life of 5.5 hours will have with normal use. Also let the company know that any application created for Windows 10 will work on the device.
The battery life of 5.5 hours may be reduced to approximately 2.5 hours if the HoloLens heavy load. That said Bruce Harris, who works at Microsoft as a Technical Evangelist. A video of the event is put through a listener online, but has also taken offline again. However, tech site WinBeta the statements one by one put. So Harris also said the HoloLens can work with any application created for Windows 10, but it is obviously necessary to make special 3D apps to use the augmented reality feature which provides glasses.
Harris also explained why the HoloLens offers a limited field of view. According to the Microsoft employee, the image may be compared with a 15 “monitor which in a little more than half a meter away condition. This has to do with the complexity of the production of the glass on which the holograms are projected, according to Harris. The increasing the field of view with a larger piece of glass would make the glasses even thousands of euros more expensive.
HoloLens must still be released this quarter in the form of a developer version and will cost about $ 3000. It is likely that the price expressed in euros will be similar, although it is still unclear to what European countries HoloLens will come out.
