Microsoft integrates Store in Windows 10 IoT Core

Microsoft has released the Anniversary Update for Windows 10 IoT Core, Windows 10 version for computing boards as the Raspberry Pi 3. The update brings include Store integration and support for a remote client to the lightweight version of Windows 10.

Thanks to the Anniversary Update for Windows 10 IoT developers can connect to the Store to distribute applications, reports Microsoft. Update those apps then runs through Microsoft’s download store. Do not add, however, all developers can install apps and they have previously purchased participating in the Windows Store OEM preinstall program for the required permission from their Windows Dev Center account, explains Microsoft.

The update marks according to the release notes further Windows public release 10 IoT support for the Raspberry Pi 3 remote client support for management via the desktop or smartphone and supports 8GB memory cards with Raspberry Pi’s Noobs preinstalled. System builders can also equip their Windows 10 IoT devices with a Trusted Platform Module, to include hardware encryption capabilities and storage of keys.

The release notes also show that Microsoft bug fixes have been implemented and include the problems dealt with speech recognition on the Raspberry Pi. In general, Microsoft speaks of “huge” improvements in performance, application support and installation procedure.
