Find a Question:
Microsoft is working on a unified app store
One store to rule them all Or so it might currently look at Microsoft. In an internal meeting plans should come to light that the App Store will be merged with Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. How exactly should look like, so whether Windows Phone apps will run on standard Windows machines, however, is still unclear.
After all, you can see Windows RT not a failure. Rather, it should find its use on small tablets and smartphones, which Terry Myerson (head of the operating system group) predicts a rosy future. But how could look like a single store? Can tablet apps simply not install on smartphones (such as in Apple’s AppStore)? Developer must specify which devices are compatible with each app (Google Play version)? We will probably efahren later, in spring 2014, will be ready at Microsoft.
My Opinion: A unified app store already heard really good form in the mobile space. Ideally, of course all apps run on all devices, but will probably still take a while. If Windows Phone and Windows RT merge however, probably will have new Surface RT Tablets sense. Finally, the other manufacturers are also a smartphone OS on their tablets.
