Microsoft provides Word and OneNote browser versions with voice-to-text

Microsoft brings a dictation function to Word Online and OneNote Online. The step is part of a series of measures to support users with dyslexia. The browser services also receive support for real-time translations.

Somewhere in the coming weeks the speech-to-text function will come to Word Online and OneNote Online. Next year will follow the online versions of PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. The step follows the addition of the dictation button in the Office 365 desktop apps and is part of the Made by Dyslexia initiative, which Microsoft supports .

Part of this is that the Immersive Reader in OneNote receives support for mathematics and thus makes a clearer distinction between text and formulas. In addition, Word Online, OneNote Online, OneNote for Windows 10, OneNote iPad, OneNote Mac, Outlook Online, Teams and Flipgrid support real-time translation of pages and selected words.
