Microsoft releases Windows 10 preview with transparent from start menu




Microsoft has a new test build of Windows 10 released. Testers can include to work with a transparent start menu. Cortana also works in more countries, but not in the Netherlands and Belgium.

The update can be installed by anyone running for a test build of Windows 10, says Microsoft. This applies to both testers on the slow and the fast ring; users of the fast ring get updates faster than testers on the slow-ring, though they may contain more bugs thereby. A new test build of Windows 10 for smartphones is incidentally not yet.

The new version will include a transparent start menu. Also, the button that gives access to all the applications easier to tap on a touch screen and it is now possible to drag from that view apps to the Start menu to “pin” them. It is also possible to drag windows to virtual desktops; was to be used a context menu therefor so far.

Cortana, the voice assistant from Microsoft, works in the new Windows version also in a number of countries other than the United States. Among them are Germany, China, the United Kingdom and France, but the Netherlands and Belgium are lacking. Lastly, the new test version include a new popup menu when users click on the network icon on the taskbar.

The test version contains still some bugs, warns Microsoft. As can occur when logging problems when entering the username and password. At the same time there are several bugs fixed it, including a problem that caused not want to open the home screen.

Wednesday announced also a Microsoft Windows 10 version for small devices, which is for devices with ARM and example Snapdragon CPUs. Windows 10 Internet of Things, such as Microsoft calls the version should be available this summer. Previously, Microsoft has already announced a Windows version for the Raspberry Pi 2.
