The live tiles of Windows 8 and Windows Phone inform users know when something new is going on. One sees, for example, when new e-mail arrives. That’s nice, but nowhere near the end of the story. Microsoft Research Asia has published several videos that show where the journey with the Live Tiles might go in the future. From the Live Tiles then Interactive Tiles, allow the user to do a lot of things already on the Windows 8 / Windows Phone Start screen.
Instead of getting only indicates that you have 5 new emails, you can see the mails individually and can jump directly to a specific in the Mail app. Or the Weather Interactive Tile displays a preview for the next few days, which can then be viewed directly on the home screen. If you want to more details, the corresponding app is fully opened.
The Interactive Tiles would make a notification center and superfluous since hooked the whole thing in my opinion. A notification center, shows all info at central, however, continue to look in the case of the Interactive Tiles must be the users themselves. It makes sense but this seems at mini-apps such as a calculator (also seen in the video) or even the weather Interactive Tile. Also useful may be Interactive Tile the desktop. There all open programs in desktop mode are displayed, which you can then directly openable from Interactive Tile.
There are three videos that Microsoft Research has been removed, but you know what the net was once … and . What do you think of the Interactive Tiles? View Dear alerts centrally, or distributed to individual tiles?
