Microsoft will stop supporting older versions of Internet Explorer. Early 2016 Users must have the latest version of the browser for their operating system to get. Patches and support

Now Microsoft also several older browser versions, supports but will stop doing so Redmondse software on January 12, 2016, shows a blog post. The newest browser version may well vary by operating system: Windows 8.1 is currently IE11, Vista users are on IE9.

Presumably, Microsoft announced the change almost a year in advance to companies the opportunity to give update to the latest version of the browser. Many internal systems of companies require specific versions of a browser, which is not regulated to the latest version. The change applies not only to the regular Windows, but also for Server editions.
