Mini-masts’ to improve Vodafone mobile internet

Small towers with little ability to improve the mobile internet from Vodafone in very crowded places. So says the provider. The so-called small cells are mainly placed in places where large masts are not allowed.

This zendmastjes are technically not essentially different from the femtocells that Vodafone for some time to consumers offering , says the provider at Tweakers. They make use of the same frequencies. Because they are small and have little power, they can be placed in places may be. No large masts placed

Moreover, they can be easily placed and they need less space, making them better blend into the streetscape. By lesser power and less high placement on walls or lampposts example they have a range of up to several hundred meters and often less.

Vodafone will use the zendmastjes to improve both the 3G and the 4G network. That will happen in stadiums, city centers, airports and shopping malls. According to Vodafone spokesman Richard Blade is hetzowel logistics, permits and places available for masts, and commercially by providing high capacity in a small area, interesting to build in that area but no major masts mini-masts to use. Especially with 3g on crowded places not reach, but capacity is an issue for many users. Because many users use the same poles, they get no or a slow connection. “More and more places at specific times greater demand for data capacity than supply is available,” said Blade. “This is due to the significant growth in data traffic.”

Providers searching for years for ways to use at busy places better jobs lead. Thus, T-Mobile experimented with prioritizing certain traffic and doing a trial with Wi-Fi hotspots .
