Minister promises to inform public about Wi-Fi tracking
Minister Kamp of Economic Affairs has agreed to provide information to citizens on how they can protect themselves from Wi-tracking. He did this in response to parliamentary questions on a message from the Personal Authority.
Kamp says that explanations on the site safe surfing will be placed, which has been online since 2014. This site provides citizens with information, for example about the safe use of social media, internet banking and wireless internet. Wi-tracking will soon also be a topic on this page.
Recently published the Authority Personal message about Wi-tracking, in which companies and governments inquired further about the legal requirements. So there is this form of tracking involved the processing of personal data, which applies to the Data Protection Act. Therefore, for example, stores should inform their customers clearly about the fact that Wi-Fi tracking is used, and there must be a legal basis.
